Book Donations

The library accepts donations of new and gently used books and DVDs which may be added to the collection if they meet our collection guidelines and selection policy.

Material donations are accepted with the understanding that if the library cannot use them, it may at any time dispose of them in any way it sees fit.  Unwanted material donations are generally sold to patrons at the library’s regular book sale, donated to another library or organization (e.g. schools, seniors’ centres), or recycled. The proceeds from book sales are used to enhance the Library’s collection, programs, and/or services.

Please note that we do not accept textbooks, Reader’s Digest condensed books, magazines, old encyclopedia sets, or any material that is in poor condition.

Materials can be dropped off at the library during regular library hours. If you have a large donation (one box or more), please call ahead to alert library staff. If you have any questions, please contact the library at 403-854-3865.

The library cannot issue tax receipts for material donations.
